JUMP IN, THE WATER’S FINE

One evening as I was watching TV a commercial came on that got my attention. It was a father standing in a swimming pool with his arms out stretched. Standing on the pool side was a very timid little girl. The water was only waist high on the father but for the little girl it would be well over her head. It was a moment of decision. Should she trust the voice of her father that promised he would catch her or turn around and back away from the edge where it would be safe? The message of the commercial was to trust.

What is it that your heavenly Father would have you do? What is it that is so deep in your heart that seems so very far over your head? Isaiah 55:8-11 reminds us that God’s Word is truth. There is absolutely no “maybe” He is not capable of lying. The universe was created because He spoke it into existence. That very same creative power goes forth when we speak His Word. He has promised to never leave us. What He has spoken will come to pass because it must obey His Word. When you know that you have heard from God go ahead, take that step that He has laid in front of you. He will not let you fall. He has the power to change the impossible into a reality. His message is clear. It simply says, “My child, I am here, trust me.”

““I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.” God ’s Decree. “For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.”
Isaiah 55:8-11 (The Message)
